Does this font look familiar to anyone ? I’m not convinced for 100% that it is Verdana.

  1. Richard Said,

Though similar, it doesn’t look like Verdana to me The letters are too wide with too little space between them. It could be Verdana with some special width setting applied.

  2. sue Said,

Exactly my thoughts- I’ve been trying to reproduce it by stretching it out, changing the spacing, and while I can come close, it’s still not thin enough. Needless to say, I have to add a new category so the easiest thing might just be to redo the ‘print’ on all of the gifs.

Geez, is that warp text thing fun ! Doesn’t help solve a thing, but still…

  3. Richard Said,

You have me curious now. What Warp Text thing is that?

  4. Brian Said,

Definitely not Verdana. More like Helvetica.

  5. sue Said,

Well, my computer time for tonight is nearly up. Brian, I just discovered that I don’t have Helvetica on my computer. I checked some styles at Adobe, but they don’t seem quite the same. I’m thinking it’s ‘eraser’ time.

Richard, the warp text ‘thing’ ( I’m really bad at names) is a nifty little thing in Photoshop that you can use to distort your text into various shapes, you know, round it out into a ball, stretch it out into a trumpet. I’m very good at finding ways to procrastinate !

  6. eliz Said,

I was thinking helvetica, but my dad says it’s not quite that, but definitely not verdana. His thought was perhaps tahoma. But even that doesn’t look right to me. Someone played with the spacing or something.

  7. sue Said,

Well, I now longer care what it is ( well…one part of me is curious). I have spent too much time on what really is a very fuzzy gif. Eraser time !

  8. --- Said,

Try Eurostile … that should be it.

The font in your image is quite far from Verdana or Tahoma or Arial.

  9. sue Said,

Thank you for the Eurostile tip – the extended #2 looks like it. To be honest, I had never really looked that closely at fonts- you know, looking to see how far the bottom of the ‘t’ curved up, or how far the arm of an ‘r’ extends. I spent odd bits yesterday distorting Tahoma, but that didn’t work either. What surprises me, is that the whole site is done in Verdana except for this bit.

You aren’t, by one of those odd quirks of the Internet, the person who designed the site in question, are you ? I’m dying of shame every day when I think of how I have procrastinated on it.

    But thank you again-
