A Lot Of Weather

Posted by Mummy Dearest on Mar-5-2006

It snowed again, today. Like it has all week. Now, back around Christmas time, we would have jumped for joy to have all of this snow, been delighted.

But now, we are all just sick unto death of snow. I fret about my camellias, wrapped in beach towels under a thick layer of snow. I fret about the plants coming in on the 15th.

But mostly, my biological thermometer is saying that it is springtime, and my heater isn’t working right- somewhere deep inside of me- for I am cold all of the time, even though the average airco temp in Alabama is much lower than our house is right now.

I want the winter to end, I’m bored to tears by winter.

  1. Nean Said,

Here’s how much it has snowed this year: When it was snowing this morning, both my kids ran to the window yelling about the snow. Then they went out back in their jammies. Then they came back in, said “It’s not cold enough to get the sled, it will all melt” and turned on Speed Racer.

I think they are ready for spring, too, lol.

  2. Sue White Said,

Oh dear, you want the winter to end and I want the summer to end. It’s hot, hot, hot here in Australia and I’m literally melting. I’d love to see some of that snow that you’re having … hope the plants survive.

  3. Gert Said,

We haven’t had snow because, generaly, we don’t get snow. But it has been colder than it was in January. In January we were watering the garden. Now we have plastic bags covering the young shoots trying to protect them. We think the geraniums have had it.

  5. sue Said,

Gert, we rarely have snow and it stinkin’ snowed AGAIN today. I had actually pulled all of my geraniums from last year through the winter…until two weeks ago.

I also have *yearling* roses that I am watching closely, but so far, they are fine.

Well, maybe this will wipe out the plague of slugs that we had last year….

  6. sue Said,

Here, Sue, have a bit of perfect Christmas weather. I know, before I know it, I will be moaning and groaning about the heat.

I’m simply dying to go outside once more…

  7. sue Said,

And Sue, Hamish looks great and sounds like things are going very well with him. At the risk of sounding like a pompous ass, that pleases me so much.

  8. sue Said,

    Neaner, sick of slush here.
    sick.
    sick.
    sick of it.
