Yesterday, The Father made a comment and today Mr.Jo ( Yes! He will be coming back. For his usual two weeks, read : most likely until December) made the same remark as we went over my list of to- do things.

You have, they both told me, lost too much weight. Obviously, they have never heard of the wit and wisdom of Mrs. Simpson. I suppose they might have been referring to the fact that my wrists look like chicken bones.

But I know them better. What they were really thinking was this : where have your tits gone ?

Have they taken off for a brief fling in Havana ?

The Boy loved every minute of it.

Surprisingly, so did The Father.

It seems that their socks were rocked off.

While I nag the kids all day long ( brush your teeth ! clean your room! elbows off the table!), a fact which rather annoys me, for as a child I did not lie awake at nights, glowing with the thoughts that one day, I would become The Head Nag the Queen Bee of some establishment, I rarely nag The Father.

Oh, I might nag about something once, perhaps twice, but rarely any more than that. Then I just say, well, I’ll figure out a way to do it myself, fine.

Today, I nagged him without mercy, until- pissed as all hell- he did what I was nagging about all morning. After he had done it, he was rather surprised by how pleased he was, having been brow- beaten into buying two concert tickets, one for himself and one for The Boy.

This Tuesday, The Boy and The Father are going to see :

The Father is going to tell The Boy about the tickets at dinner time. And I already know that this will be one of those evenings that The Boy never forgets ( The original Elvis backing band, in the flesh !).

I am dying to see his reaction to getting the tickets, and to hear what kind of an evening he will have.

Of course, he is still grousing about keeping his comic books in my little room of my own.
