100 Things About Me.

1. It has been medically proven that I am allergic to everything on this earth except guinea pigs.

2. I have an extra vertebra in my spine.

3. I have lived in the Netherlands for 20 years as of July 15 of this year.

4. I still can’t speak dutch.

5. I am an army brat.

6. My family moved around so much that I’m actually from nowhere.

7. I have one brother, whom I have always called ‘Tut’.

8. He has always called me ‘moose’, after Bullwinkle.

9. That is the only nick name I have ever had. I sometimes wonder why no one ever called me ‘baby-cakes’ or something equally smooshie.

10. I hate canned peas.

11. I loathe applesauce.

12. I love anchovies.

13. Our house was built in 1632.

14. I was treated for hard core infertility for 8 years. On my 40th birthday, I had my last injection. Since then, I’ve been pg three times ( Meg being one of them).

15. I was once a cheerleader.

16. I was once a jock.

17. I was once an archaeologist.

18. I have no desire to do any of these things again.

19. Since childhood, I have preferred men with blue eyes and dark hair. I don’t know why.

20. I don’t smile often.

21. Despite 6 years of higher education, I can’t spell.

22. I won a prize for a paper on the book of Job.

23. My favorite color is yellow.

24. I usually wear black.

25. I’m afraid of cows.

26. I wear glasses.

27. I don’t like the various foods on my plate to touch one another.

28. I hate milk. Always have.

29. I don’t know how to drive a car.

30. I once called a catholic priest a sniveling coward in public ( in church, as a matter of fact)

31. The first language I spoke in was German. Not that I can speak it now.

32. I can get quite jumpy about the way women are treated.

33. Despite having had 2 years of ‘sex-ed’, when the boy downstairs told me the facts of life ( graphically) I was horrified. Simply horrified.

34. My best friends were always men.

35. I collect posters from WWI.

36. I met my DH when I was 22.

37. I am 44.

38. I have never worn blue eye shadow.

39. At 21, I was told I was terminally ill. They were wrong. Obviously.

40. The TV series ‘Columbo’ had a major effect on my personality.

41. I don’t like most classical music.

42. I don’t like coke.

43. I don’t like ice tea.

44. I hate Budweiser.

45. I have dual citizenship.

46. I had a perfect childhood. Loved every minute of it.

47. I dislike cut flowers.

48. I would like to have a Korat cat one day.

49. I’m afraid of heights.

50. I’m also afraid of deep water.

51. I once took sitar lessons.

52. I procrastinate. A lot. That’s why I’m doing this, instead of what I should be doing.

53. I don’t like desserts.

54. I hate disco music.

55. I love old rock and roll.

56. I always pay our bills on time.

57. I’m a slob.

58. I never close cupboard doors.

59. I can’t fall asleep if a closet door or drawer is open in my bedroom.

60. I read at least an hour every night before I go to sleep.

61. I own clothing that is older then most people on this board.

64. I don’t in particular like getting presents. Especially cut flowers.

65. I’m very good at map reading.

66. Yet I often confuse my left and right hand.

67. I’m right handed.

69. I once considered taking a nicotine patch with me to see the film ‘Titanic’.

72. I love juicy gossip.

73. I live in a small town ( about 1100 people).

74. I always sleep with a fan on. And the window open. And the heat off.

75. I have no taste in clothing for myself.

76. I have three pairs of shoes. Two of those are terminal. I really have to buy new shoes.

77. I rarely read fiction.

78. Sometimes I wonder if history is just old gossip.

79. I have met Marjan, Catherine , Jeanine , Angie and Kim.

80. Catherine was the first person to respond to a post of mine. I’m still grateful.

81. I’m hoping that there will be another euro meet this year.

82. While I never planned it this way, lately I’m very glad that I am an older mother.

83. I have changed 95% of the poopy diapers that were ever produced by our children.

84. I now have a cast iron stomach.

85. My mother died when she was 48.

86. I loathe Noddy.

87. I had braces on my teeth for about a year. Before that, I looked like a vampire.

91. I love the NY Times Sunday crossword puzzle.

92. I have never completed a Sunday NY Times crossword puzzle.

93. I am often amazed that my life turned out so well : I have more then I ever dreamed of having.

94. I often wonder why the board tolerates my flippancy.

95. I still don’t know what ‘sardonic’ means. Not really.

96. Han and I are, on the surface, extreme opposites.

97. I feel very guilty about Meg’s rotten teeth.
