The Playroom

Posted by Mummy Dearest on Aug-29-2006

The ‘Playroom’ last Friday, November 15, after Mr.Jo finished building the bookcases, before we cleaned up. Well, before Han cleaned up. I am standing on the far side of the hole for the stairs, surrounded by bookcases. Believe it or not, I want to put a bathroom over by the wall opposite me, where all of those large, dark brown boards are standing.

Another view. The clown hanging from the beam is in front of the door to Sally’s room.

Yesterday, November 18, Mr. jo hung the doors to Sally and Meg’s rooms. I am still standing in the middle of the bookcases.

Standing across from the doors, Sally’s room on the left, Mag’s on the right, the bookcases on the far right.

The floor I did in Meg’s room. I hate the brown around the windows, but when you are rebuilding, you pick your battles. Mr. Jo and Han wanted brown. I can always paint them white ‘one day’. The ceilings are ox-blood red, the traditional color for our town.

looking west, showing the door to the laundry room and the staircase.

Another view. North. ( Yes, that’s my picket fence that you see on the left)

‘Done’.

East, showing the doors to the new bathroom and what will be a linen closet.

May 2.

As far as Mr.Jo is concerned, his work here is almost done. When I am going to paint all of this wood is a mystery to me.
